Three Ideas To Consider When Designing Your Custom Kitchen

Kitchens are vibrant and fun rooms, where many happy memories are made, from cooking pancakes with your kids to late-night chats with your partner over a glass of wine. You spend a lot of time in your kitchen and it should meet your needs specifically, which is why custom kitchens are better than mass-produced designs. If you are thinking about getting a custom kitchen made for your house, then you might be a bit stumped as to where to start. Here are a few ideas to help get you on the right track in establishing that perfect room.

Splashbacks

Installing an interesting splashback is something that many people overlook when looking at the more utilitarian aspects of a kitchen. But kitchens should also be warm, inviting places that you want to spend time in, and a well-designed splashback can elevate your kitchen. Whether you want a simple colour that matches the theme of your room, or you want something a little bit more unique, like a picture of a beach or even your family, options are available. Splashbacks are the perfect way to add a bit of fun and can be easily changed if you end up not liking them in the future.

Industrial Sink

Sinks are often relegated to a less important status in the kitchen when you design them, but that is a mistake. A good sink with a deep basin and a strong and manoeuvrable faucet can make for a very easy cleaning up after a big meal. The deep basin is especially important, as it can prevent your shirt from getting wet right above your waist. It might not be the most glamorous part of the room, but it is little touches like these that turn an average kitchen into one that you can't spend enough time in.

Easy To Access Bins

Bin placement is key in any kitchen, as you are constantly throwing out everything from wrappers to food scraps and so on. You should leave quite a bit of space under your benchtop for three bins: general waste, recycling and potentially a compost option as well. The positioning of the bin is important too, as you don't want it too central as then it is hard to reach if someone is cooking or doing the washing up. However, you also don't want it too far away because otherwise, it will be a hassle to use. Some people solve this by having multiple bins, which is another very interesting idea that suits bigger kitchens.
